The Art of 'Beginning Again' with Kritika Goel

Suppose that you are living the life that society tells you is stable. An office job and a paycheck every month. And then life hits you, at times shocks you right up to the root and then takes you where you are meant to be. It was the life and the breaking point, Kritika Goel, who is more commonly recognised as the full-time traveller and content creator, who literally gets paid to chase the world.  My introduction to Kritika was her youtube travel vlogs with her voice and aesthetics, and her honesty in telling the stories about different places of the world made me feel like I was travelling reading next to her. Yet what is even more inspirational about her is not necessarily the destinations she vlogs on, but what she is capable of with the smile on her face, and what decisions brought her to that point.

Similar to the majority of us, she took the standard path of studying mass media and having a job in a corporation as a marketer and social media specialist. She was a stable career earner who had all the boes of what success should have. She was unfulfilled, though. The 9 to 5 grind does not suit her creativity and her passion to explore.

The next thing was the heartbreak which changed everything, the death of her boyfriend, the person who had been her rock. Maybe that was a turning point to Kritka. Grief should have engulfed her but she decided to celebrate life by living to the fullest. she abandoned her comfortable job to travel, explore and write about it. During an interview, she said that she began making YouTube videos with simple equipment and zero experience in the filmmaking industry. She taught herself to shoot, edit, storytell, and everything in one. Gradually, Kritika took a niche in the digital travel industry in India. Her television channel was recognized due to its simplicity and sincerity. She said boredom makes miracles, if you have creativity. This single line is an ideal summary of her attitude towards life, as she made something significant out of the common situations. What I love most about Kritika is that she does not just use her platform to discuss travel but speaks about more, too. She shares her experiences about burnout, fear, and self-doubt. In a perfection-obsessed world, her authenticity feels invigorating. she highlighted how influencer marketing is all too easily confused with advertising, drawing a distinction that authenticity and storytelling are more important than brand collaborations.

Today, Kritika Goel is one of the most popular travel creators in India - with an active YouTube channel, a significant Instagram account, and her own blog (kritikagoel.com) where she can be found writing about travel guides and itineraries, personal thoughts. She is regularly covered in the lifestyle section of websites such as PeoplePlaces.in that describe her as a young YouTuber out of Tamil Nadu who has made her wanderlust her full-fledged career. She did not just want to travel, she wanted to be profitable.  she described how she developed her personal brand through authenticity and extreme selectivity in collaborations. She is extremely careful to prioritize the trust of her audience and makes no secret that her aim is to deliver value, so her videos are both entertaining and useful. That blend of creative output and business sense is what really differentiates her and has enabled her to cultivate a fan base of more than 700,000 subscribers.

The story of Kritika Goel is the evidence that we can make something beautiful even in the most blackest moments of our life as only in such moments we could make people believe in the life once again. She abandoned stability to pursue uncertainty and in the process made a discovery of herself. She is not only recording places but educating her viewers and all people viewing that a personal freedom and a dream job is attainable, even when the underpinnings of your life are shaken. Her odyssey from corporate worker, to great suffering, to wildly successful travel entrepreneur is the greatest inspiration.
